Play Your New Reality
BACKGROUND:
Oculus is a division of Meta that develops virtual reality headsets. The gaming aspect of these headsets directly compete with other headsets, such as PSVR and Valve Index, and other gaming consoles such as Nintendo Switch and PS5.
INSIGHT:
The main advantage virtual reality headset has over its competition is its immersiveness. Because it is a headset, it provides a very realistic experience. I want to focus on that advantage, with a slightly-humorous headline “Almost a bit too real”.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the campaign is to make a video advertisement that promotes its headset as a great gaming experience.
APPROACH:
To demonstrate the immersiveness of the headset, I start the video with scenes in the gaming experience. It then slowly reveals itself as an in game experience instead. By doing so, I hope to make the in game experience as realistic as possible.
